Leading window and door manufacturer Shelforce is expanding its workforce and investing in new machinery to meet increasing demand following another record-breaking year.
The Birmingham-based company, which specialises in providing high-quality PVCu windows, doors and fire doors for local authority building projects, has welcomed Teresa Szkurdziuk and Sarah Melding to strengthen its customer service and processing team, while all agency staff have been made permanent due to continued business growth.
The company is also currently recruiting for three new team leader positions across its fire door manufacturing, window manufacturing, and storage and dispatch departments, with a £500,000-plus investment in new machinery also planned.
Howard Trotter, Business Manager at Shelforce, commented: “Our order books are full well into next year, and strengthening our team is vital to maintain our high standards and meet the increasing demand we’re experiencing.
“Teresa and Sarah have already made a huge difference to our processing capabilities as we’ve gotten busier, while making our agency staff permanent solidifies the brilliant team we have built for the future.”
The team leader positions have attracted significant interest, with 20 applicants including several internal candidates. “We’re delighted to see internal candidates stepping forward,” said Howard, with Shelforce nominated for this year’s Training and Development Initiative of the Year award at the G24 Awards.
“At Shelforce, we place huge emphasis on helping our workforce move into more senior roles and developing their skills. It’s a fundamental part of our culture and success.”
The expansion follows exceptional business growth, with Shelforce achieving a record turnover of £8.9 million last year and on target to reach £11-12 million this year.
“This growth reflects the hard work of our entire team and the trust our customers place in us,” concluded Howard. “With these new appointments and investments, we’re well-positioned for continued success.”
